February 17th, 18th, & 19th (President's Day), 2001 WARWICK, NY - 3-DAY IN-STUDIO WORKSHOP: COLLAGE, COMPOSITION, & THE CREATIVE PROCESS / in the Artist's Studio: Explore composition and the creation of a personal visual vocabulary. Enjoy new opportunities for spontaniety as you learn how to eliminate liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly process. Other subjects to be covered include "Getting Started," Accessing our Creative Energies, "Paperless" Transfer of Printed and Photocopied Images, Permanency of Materials, Preparation of Substrates, Sources of Tools and Materials, Presentation and Framing of Finished Works, and more. Limited to 8 participants. Workshop Fee (3 days): $300. Includes Lunch, Refreshments, and optional evening hours on Saturday and Sunday at no extra cost. Materials Fee: $25. August 18th & 19th, 2000 NEW YORK MILLS, MINNESOTA: COLLAGE TECHNIQUES & CREATIVE EXPLORATION / The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center, New York Mills, MN. The first workshop I have ever led in in Minnesota will take place in a place with New York in its name! New York Mills, about an hour east of Fargo, ND, has one-thousand inhabitants and promises to be a tranquil setting for what I intend to be an exciting workshop. Explore composition and the creation of a personal visual vocabulary. Enjoy new opportunities for spontaniety as you learn how to eliminate liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly process. Join us for four days at this spacious facility in the beautiful Puget Sound area of northern Washington. During this workshop (which will feature optional evening studio hours 'til 9PM at no extra cost) we will explore Composition and the Creation of a Personal Visual Vocabulary while we enjoy the new opportunities for spontaniety provided by the elimination of liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly process. September 8th & 9th, 2001 PORTLAND, OR - WORKSHOP: COLLAGE TECHNIQUES & CREATIVE EXPLORATION / Art Media: Art Media owner Gail Vines has invited me back for a two-day weekend workshop in Portland. In addition to Collage without Liquid Adhesives, "paperless" image transfer, and other collage techniques, we will explore Composition, Creation of a Personal Visual Vocabulary, the Presentation and Framing of Finished Works, and more. 9:30am - 5:30pm both days. Workshop Fee (2 days) $200 including materials. Limited to 12 participants. This workshop will take place earlier in September than in years past so registration will be handled directly by Art Media, not by Portland Community College. Our workshop will take place across the street from beautiful Lithia Park and within walking distance of Ashland's theaters and wonderful restaurants. JONATHAN TALBOT: A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:

Works by Jonathan Talbot have been exhibited at The National Academy and The Museum of Modern Art in New York, have represented the U.S. overseas in exhibitions sponsored by the State Department and the Smithsonian Institution, and are included in museum collections in the U.S. and Europe. Talbot maintains his studio in Warwick, NY where he lives with his wife Marsha. They are the parents of two children: a daughter, Loren, and a son, Garret.
